The ventilation system must include a damper. If your roof or wall cap (exhaust cap) already has a built-in damper, a damper on the range hood’s top/back outlet may not be necessary.

When you buy a Vesta range hood, the damper for the vent adaptor is no longer included and is sold separately if required. Improper installation of the damper may reduce airflow performance.
